A product of the geriatric platoon? Hardly. A morbid vein to scare the squeamish? Not in the mood. A reflection of that last stop station which we traveled to with our only one way life ticket? Why not?
Those that fear death haven't enjoyed life to the hilt, they have only existed.

Poem Artwork

I heard a knock on my door...
and I said, "who's there?"
getting a little pause,
an hiccup of silence,
until a "you know who"
was heard
from the reaper,
it wasn't impatient,
just the tired voice
of He That Harvest.

"Go away, I am not ready,"
I said, "come back another time,
come back another day,
because I wasn't expecting you
and I am not prepared."
Another little pause and
"Once a king," he said,
"wanted to swap his kingdom
for a horse to get away..."

I opened the door and
as Death saw my face,
I could see
its sudden fear,
"Not you!!!...Oh not you!!!"
the man with the scythe said,
and turning around he ran
screaming for a horse
to get away.

There was big laugh trapped in my soul all this winter which has found a way out today with your marvelous poem when I read the last line. I was so scared in the beginning, thinking that you were the one who would ran screaming to get a horse to get away but the story made a wonderful twist in end, putting death itself in a disadvantaged postion. The sender will equip it better next time and I´m sure it will come back. But still be as prepared and as strong as you are, dear friend. Those who are afraid of death do not live a life but exist in a living world. Great poem

my favorite is a line in your intro: Those that fear death haven't enjoyed life to the hilt, they have only existed.

OK so what happened tell us the truth, you were smoking little brothers stuff, and saw he was a fluff, and nearly scared him to death,ha, what an oxy, you still carying that bazzooka under your arms all the time? They have to send a special envoy to persuade you to come willingly won't they, figures. You won again, but then you're used to it aren't you. Happy you're still with us, and in good spirits, Jasmin Horst

Georg,

Escaping death, what a wonderful thing. Only thing, it will ride that horse again. Very well written, I enjoyed reading, wondering about the end.
