Those that have been in Canada know that anything can happen, like getting stranded on Medicine Hat, trying to communicate with those Cretien Injuns without Quèbècois language acknowledgment, of flying Air Canada upside down! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Poem Artwork

Dedicated to my brother Fee

The weirdest thing that ever happened,
caught by a capricious gust of wind
it got twisted like an American pretzel
that dumbest of all Canadians geese!!!

sometimes us Americans don't know if we're coming or going, that is until we ask a Canadian, and find out we were right all along ;)

Walt is right, I heard a Canadian goose honking down here in Georgia just the other day. They moved from up north to the south, and now don't worry about hunters looking up, because these rednecks are looking down from their tree stands to kill Bambi while drinking a beer, so they can add another trophy head on the wall, if they don't get too drunk and fall out of the tree stand first.

Cute poem; thought provoking and humorous!

A lot of those Geese from Canada have made permanent homes here in Georgia. I guess they figured there was no reason for all that damned flying. They particularly love golf course greens, where it is a nice place to leave their, uh, marks, but it is sure hard to putt around poop.

This a nice and funny one, but with a great photo that goes with it.

Maybe I've been hit by that same wind! Feels like my life is upside down right now, and I'm trying to flap upstream...in a sky, no less, swimming in stagnant air with two broken fins!

Hey Georgy! LOL! Been missing you, and all my favorite writers here at the den...I can barely find "Kimmy" time these days trying to balance things, hubby is out of work and together we are trying to save our home...keep us in your prayers...
I'll be BACK! :) Promise. :) Your pen always leaves me smiling or in awe, beyond the grins!
Love and Peace~

A few years ago I fished for a week in Canada and scratched for
a month, and enjoyed ever minute of it. I don't recall running
into any Canadian gooses but maybe I consumed too much of that
Canadian whiskey (or is it, whisky?) -gene

Felix's review was hilarious! Your poem is unfortunately true. Some Canadian geese end up in jet engines. I am Canadian, and I appreciate what you are saying here.

What brought this outburst, you been drinking that cheap Morgan Rum again, and you thought you were flying upside down, or did someone stand you on your head, that pointy one, I'll say no more, Fee gave you what for already, by the way do you know how to clean a goose, explain? strange things one writes about chickens crossing the road, the other about geese flying upside down, this all for the birds.

Well not sure to say thank you or screw you but as I know it was well meaning I will go with the first. It did remind me of a little joke about a Canadian who took his buddy out fishing close to the American fishing boundaries and told him to only keep the Canadian fish, when he was asked how he could tell the difference, the man replied (ready for this?):

"The Americans are the ones with the big mouths."

Just kidding my American brothers and sisters.
