The Cup for Tears

Trer-Schelchel, Debra, a girl I knew, told me long time ago that it was the name in Israel's Yiddish for "a cup for tears" and then...she told me why.

Dedicated to a dear AD friend Mark Lichterman




It means, loosely, a cup for tears in Israel,
referring to the vessel receiving of a broken love
the inconsolable soul wrenching tears,
the warm and humid sorrow, falling down.

If someone tells you anytime of needing one,
a heart got suddenly empty, that’s because,
a tenderness belonging only to you has died
making your heart to wither and get so lost…

When the last kiss you will try to remember,
you will find that such a kiss are no more,
the only thing left will be to hide your face
and use the cup for tears when you are alone.

I hope you didn't make that Yiddishe maidel cry, it's a big cup, but then you need it, you most likely made a lot of them cry.
