to go visit my little boy,

This is very moving and my heart goes out to you. I have a good friend in London (now in Jakarta), whose wife at the time carried his son to term and then he did not survive childbirth. He had to hold his dead boy in a blanket for 24 hours beforew giving him up. One day, when I was in London, we drove to his little grave stone and laid flowers upon it. One of the saddest moments I've ever witnessed. Powerfully done!
Powerful painting along with powerful prose. Georg, I don't believe that it was a punishment. You did what your superiors told you to do and God says we must obey those in power over us. The blame for these deaths is on their heads not yours. Your little one, though discarded from this world is alive and well in the Fathers arms. He prays for you and one day you will be reunited. I too am truly sorry, but like others have said maybe she didn't have a choice. I don't think it was a punishment against you, and God has already forgiven you for your part in a war you didn't start, and her for not thinking ahead. But maybe she did, and maybe she had no choice.

Georg, I never know, I can never actually tell if much of what you write are excerpts from your life and if so, so sad and, at times so lonely. But always written so we, at least I can feel the pain and, at times the loneliness.

Thank you for writing this Georg. It's sure to bring a lot of comments and controversy. Few ever think about the father's feelings and I wonder how many father's know of the slaughter. And that's what it is - slaugher, slaughter of an innocent, a tiny innocent human body containing a soul. A fetus may not have emotional feelings but it has physical ones even though it can't understand or express them. May God have mercy on those who consent to such horrendous acts, and may God have mercy on those who commit them. "Thou shalt not kill." Their day of judgment will come. I hope everyone reads this poem. Perhaps it will have a positive effect on some woman/girl who is contemplating such an act. Those who are pro-choice may be outraged by my comments and that's just too damn bad.
I have always believed it takes two to create such a beautiful gift, the Father should have as much say as the Mother. Thank you for sharing Georg and I do pray that this is fiction for I hurt for those innocent.

This phrase expresses with truth the clarity of a situation outside ourselves. Some people cannot see things like this.
May all those scars of many emotional wars submit to heal for all who suffer.

And then there is the awful pain of the slow death of the unwanted, who suffer without end, where there is no love there should be no child, and in todays world there is very little of love, but many many children, many more are being born every day, I understand your pain, there is never an excuse for not loving an innocent being almost alive, or later, still yet there are so many in neglect of love, maybe not yours, you might find it in your heart to help those.
I have a sweet little child in Mongolia that is just in need of the basics, and if I think of all of the toys all my grandchildren have, it would feed her for years to come. When you my friend get to the other side, love it a hundred times as much, to make up for the times you were not allowed. O, Georg, this is absolutely heartwrenching! I am so sorry; I pray this is fiction! If not, I pray God gives you a sense of peace and healing! To me abortion is murder: an innocent life is taken way too soon, before he or she has a chance to be born, and to me, I have ALWAYS been pro-life! Abortion is MURDER, no two bones about it!
