Who has never dreamed of being a bird? Of returning to that state of freedom that humans must have known thousands of years ago... Sweet poem on a universal longing.
I spend hours and hours every day, just watching all the different species of birds, around my house. They are simply gorgeous and perfect creatures.
Without a care, (or so it seems) that the world is filled with hate and violence. Nothing fazes them in their daily quest for nourishment. So we feed them, happily, so they will continue to bless our lives.

My Dear Sandi,
Every once in a while I will come across a poem that everything
a great poem should contain; ( in my humble opinion).
You've created the essense of natures most interesting creatures.
I love birdds and all your thoughts about their pure lives
are wonder-filled inspirational!!!!
I LOVE IT ,...I LOVE IT!!!!
I see the most remarkable bird species around my house and most of the time I am not even looking.
Cardinals....Mocking Birds....King Fishers.....Falcons and Doves
Other birds I haven't any idea what names they have.
But I also own the smartest Old World Parrot....who is the
most wonderful little family member ...and his intelligence is something one has to witness to believe!

Canadians that fly south in the winter are called "Snowbirds." Yes I want to be one of them! Okay so its not the natural wings but it is the next best thing :-) Excellent nature write and very orginal.
Me, too!! Treasure the Carolina wrens who nest in a mailbox on the back deck so much, I am thinking of putting together a collection about them. Teach us so much, don't they? Really enjoyed this.
