Once upon a life was found
That life was more an experiment
Upon this life were ladled things
To see how this life handled it

Like rats within a maze are watched
Some learn, some never find their way
Life is like those rats it seems
Some living never finds its way

Life in my small neighborhood
Is more an activity called boring
For no one takes those steps that risk
a fall from grace or heaven

today I sit and type to folks
who also have no life like me
and may be time will take my soul
to heavens gate so gold

I assume that is when that God will say
“What did life give to you.”
And I will say, “oh my dear Lord
it gave me pause to wonder,”

I wondered why my life was bland?
and wondered why I cannot care,
I once did love but that has fled
and all that’s left is ennui”

So Dear God I now have come
To spend eternity and do good
I would protest and hope for more
Except that’s just too boring”!
