Karen, if you're visiting this site, I dedicate this poem to you. (As I mentioned to you, my writing class and instructors were so hung-up on political correctness, it angered me as a writer.)

PC PARANOIA

There was a time
when PC meant
Police Constable
Personal Computer or
Pepsi Cola.

There was a time
when fat, short, and handicapped
were mainly adjectives.

Political correctness dictates
pleasantly plump
vertically challenged and
physically challenged
are better expressions by far.

A step further was made
in the quest for correctness
when "person" was substituted for "man"
There's chairperson, mailperson,
business person, garbage person,
and that's just a few.

Political Correctness is
restricting to writers
worse than mental block
worse even than writer's cramp.

It's POLITICAL CONSTIPATION!

Let's build a stronger self-image and self-confidence instead!

SNOW WHITE AND THE 7 VERTICALLY CHALLENGED?

Yeah, right!
