There are those things we are never truly prepared for.. but we continue because we must.
Losing You
Losing you
was not announced in sobs of denial
nor was it the whisper of a final breath.
I kept waiting for both
but neither came
The world did not come to an end
nor did it race forward at breakneck speed.
It simply lay there, frozen,
like me, not knowing what to do.
Words did not comfort
but then neither did silence.
Nothing could breach the numbness
nor could anything touch the pain.
No, losing you
was not what I expected it would be...
Myrna, you describe it so well. Exactly how one feels frozen not knowing what to do. Your deep anguish and sorrow even now, come through even though understated...beautifully written

Your poem's words sound a bit "grown up" to me. But, having not gone through this kind of a loss until my wife's death last year, I'm not savvy to the myrid of emotions at work. I do know that your words tell the story well - crisp - to the point - and are ply chosen.

Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
