Dear friends, This piece is one which has taken two years to put together in a manner of speaking. After my husband's death I began keeping a journal of my rantings and random thoughts. One page of it was simply jotted down lines of those things I would do again one day...tomorrow. I have been going throgh the journal and found this page to be an oasis within the darkness that was then. I decided to somehow put those thoughts into a poem and this is the result. I do hope you enjoy and please know that my 'tomorrow' is much closer than this poem may indicate..))
Tomorrow, I Promise
Tomorrow I will lift my face
To the sun, its light will
Touch me and its warmth
Will soothe the ache
Of my troubled soul.
I will seek gentle moon
Cloaked within velvet and hear
The whisper of its secret, feel
Its coolness drift across
My weary mind.
Tomorrow I will paint clouds
Upon azure skies and I will slide
On rainbows, raise my hands
Toward Heaven and thank
God I am alive.
I will stand in rain and skip
Through puddles of joy and I will
Breathe deeply of life, dance
In the arms of acceptance
And begin to dream again.
Yes, I will...
When 'today' is done with me
And I am done with 'yesterday'..
C'est très bien exprimé. Tes vers parlent à mon âme. A powerfully emotive and meaningful write, Myrna. Thank you for sharing it. Love and peace to you,
Regis

Dear Myrna:
Here we are again - but further along I believe. Further along in what I sometimes wonder. In hope, comfort and life, I suppose. This piece oozes your gentility 'I will slide on rainbows" even if in only looking out the window towards life.
Finally I am brought less to hears, instead to skies of hope.
lots of love, bayou babe,
Kathy

I read this from a perspective that may be somewhat different than other readers. A rose bud is about to bloom within the poet; just as this poem has bloomed on the page. In reading this poem I feel a powerful sense of hope and renewal. I feel uplifted and optimistic about the future. "Dance in the arms of acceptance and begin to dream again." "Haec olim meminisse."

There is deep sadness in your lines, but glittering through them, is hope. Hope shines like the tears you shed...and touch my heart with your courage to press on. I'm sorry for your loss; know you're in my prayers.
Your words are perfect, and the photo runs a warm second. This poem tells your many and loving friends that you will awaken soon in your "tomorrow." That will be when we revel in knowing that you're doing all of these things... and more.
Your poetry is, as always, excellent... not a wsted word or thought.
