Falling Secrets
Measuring steps, studying clouds And wondering if quickness will Pay off
Before the sky opens upon Me, spilling its secrets, I run Faster.
Fumbling with mischievous keys So determined to thwart my ploy, The door
Almost giggles at my attempts To hurry as I watch ever- Nearing
Clouds, anticipating that first Drop or two, and telling myself Move it!
Success at last! I toss keys, cell Phone and relieved grocery bags Inside
And wonder if there is still time. Shoes fly and again I hurry... Ah yes!
I catch the first secret, feel its Splash upon a soul dancing in The rain.
lol...I guess the question is...at least in this old perverts mind is ....did you hurry to greet the first raindrop in the nude? I personally love standing in the rain...but I had to give up doing it in the nude cause everytime I did, there were would be a flurry of Bigfoot reports the next day.
All kidding aside, this is an excellent piece...one with a cute twist on what the protagonists intentions are. The form is lovely, one I may have to try down the road a bit.
What a wonderful poem. The cool dark clouds fell over me, too, as you sprinted to that door. How I love to watch in safety as the rain falls. A big smile as shoes fly. Forgive me for not having commented lately -- I think I'm back!
You and rain have a long standing (running) love affair, and this is one of it's best developments. Deeply moving, your reader runs with you, and shares in the splashing secrets. Unique and just plain FUN ! Thank you for this one... reading like the Myrna I know.
