An older piece I thought I might share...

Impressions Of The Muse

It slumbers...
drifting into the land of dreams,
pauses, listening to the echoes
of past remembrance, waving its
quick farewell for it has other memories
to visit in its journey of quiet impressions...

It piques curiosity...
chasing its rainbows
while capturing the faint
remnants of thunder, a tiny shiver
of anticipation ripples through its soul,
to seek its inspiration...

It tiptoes gracefully...
dancing between shadows
amid despair, yet cavorting
with laughter in poetic minuet
of light and dark, a rhythm
unique in unpatterned syncopation...

Ah it awakens...
stretching its nimble mind
as it retrieves the rested
quill of discovery, the rush
of renewal in poetic baptism,
flowing rivulets of random verse...

... such is the muse
and its quiet impressions.

i adore the idea of the muse.
but ask me frequently what i think of the muse and i will tell you soemthing different.
right now i am more than convinced that mine has run off to norway or somewhere far away...

i like the beauty and gentleness you apply to the muse.
making it something everyone should want to chase and seduce.
good work =)

Great hands of applause for this work of art that sings from the page like the muse himself sings into your sweet ear. Well done Myrna.

One's muse seems to be a very private thing... each differing with the writer, and it is clear that even the writer has those days in which the muse is an angel or a bastard, refusing to deliver any inspiration or reflection on things for writing. It's a love/hate thing, and here, I want you to know that I LOVE this poem, for it is so loving and soft in deliering it message. Thank you, my talented friend of Bayou Land. - Bill

So good to find a moment to read you again Myrna. I love the style and feel of this poem. Your muse has a delicate touch...mine has been nudging lately, ever so slightly and that's a welcomed sign.
