written in a form developed by E.W. Richardson called 'soliloquy'
Simply
She had never cared very much For adventures' call, was not drawn To being lured by danger's pawn, Never sought to flirt with temptations' edge
Thoughts of soaring skies sometimes danced Through her mind, visions of mountains scaled Teased the spirit and oceans sailed Tugged the imagination of endless summer
But she was born to simpler fare Not inclined to be bold or invite daring More laid back, always somewhat uncaring Of the thrills that others highly praised
Tethers of blindness could be claimed If one wanted to make such pleas But she would not be bothered with theories Of why... they mattered little to her
For life had been kind, giving her much To embrace though she's skirted the edge Of bad a time or two.... she had danced In the rain to drumbeats of summer, Captained puddle boats, her fare Paid with smiles and laughter, praised Azure skies, magnolia breeze, and claimed Each as gifts that 'simply' defined her
"Taint a thing wrong with simplicity, dear Myrna. I thin we see and enjoy life best when it is uncluttered and absorbed. May I join you?

Taylor

Simply beautiful! I love this personal insight into the poet and the person of Myrna D. Badgerow. I have always been a believer in the statement that there is beauty in simplicity. You have taken us to so many wonderful places through your poetry. I find this piece refreshing and comforting. Thank you for sharing these gifts with us.

Good work! You may believe that you are a simple person, but that brain of yours, and other traits, don't say so. Your poetry says more than simplicity to me, and I am glad that is so. A mix of what should describe, "simple," but it's more! - Bill
This is a beautiful expression of the deep passion of a persons own thoughts on life...we do not have to jump out of an airplane to feel the rush of air on our face...a fast run through a park will do the same. Great write Myrna.
A full life even if she steered clear of more exciting places. Often, a whole wonderful world can be found in simple pleasures. This poem aply conveys this thought.
