Just musing on an unexpectedly cool mid-September morning....
Rumor
How it surprises with taste of crisp, scent of fresh, touch of forgotten cool...
As it flirts with rising sun, dampened grass, lingering yawns of waking...
It cajoles like a rumor, almost unbelievable, or a well-kept secret itching to be whispered...
But it is just a morning in mid-September hinting at fall, an unexpected gift....
And such a tease!

I always love that first twinge of coolness that comes in early Fall, the sign that Summer is out of reach as we move towards the fullness of Autumns season. I enjoyed this very much!

You took the words right out of my morning! A glorious one in Georgia's lower mountains. A neighbor and I went into town, and I asked him if he were old enough to appreciate such a new day. His answer was good enough to repeat, "Not until lately, 'cause I'll be 60 at the end of December!" I do believe that BOY is OLD ENOUGH !
Thank you for a timely clever poem that says it exactly right.
We had a touch of fall last week, it was great after record breaking temperatures for weeks...just when we were enjoying the cool temps...what do you know we are back to the nineties again! Yes, we too were teased by mother nature with a few refreshing days that whispered fall in the air...enjoyed!

We've had one day in the upper 70s, the rest have been in the 90s...I'm more than ready for autumn, here! Maybe by Christmas....LOL Enjoyed this one, Myrna, well done.

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
