In reflection as another holiday and many Mondays have passed since the loss that turned my world upside down... a message from a friend reminded me of those gifts we all possess and how they do sustain us even when it hurts to remember.
Like Mondays
Days pass, drifting into years, and Mondays come and go. I give them time's blessing and watch as they slip away, no longer numbered or placed in order of significance. If only memories could be as easy.... but they are fickle creatures and make their own choices. Sometimes they come with the flash of sudden remembrance and sometimes they call softly in the distance, a faded reflection of other times. They can soothe with the gentleness of whispered words but also can pierce the flesh, ripping open wounds thought healed. They reach into my very soul, making them impossible to let go even when I bleed. If only they could be more like Mondays... but I cannot let them just slip away.
...memories...can never slip away...for they are born within us from the beginning...as daydream into water...setting visual emotion astir...beyond our eyes reach.
your excellent thoughts to me...water for daydreams...

Your words are perfect for, "after Christmas," reflection. Thank you. Maybe, by next Wednesday, I'll get used to having four Mondays in each Holiday week. And, perhaps, your soft words of sweet remembering will make this special time of the year, less heartbreaking. With tears of ink, my dear friend..... -- Bill
