Yes, it has been a while since I have posted here. I am back and hopefully I will not have any more unwelcome visitors..) This piece is dedicated to the people of my area, especially members of my family.
Home
After the tempest
Shards of another life lay
In bitter silence
Rain-soaked dreams fall so softly
From eyes lashed in disbelief
Her vision clouds, unwilling to comprehend that memories, those pieces of time, lie scattered, tossed across a sober sky. She tells herself these are but things, bits of paper, faded photos, thoughts once tucked between board and nail... and a home is not things. Home is where the soul breathes and love lives. She wonders though when her heart will hear her words... and believe.
This piece is dedicated to the people of Terrebone Parish in Louisiana, especially my daughter and sisters, who will do what they have always done.. survive and move on. Both Gustav and Ike dealt us a mighty blow indeed. May we now have a chance to breathe deeply and begin to rebuild.
Myrna it is so good to see you back and posting, and thankfully you and your loved ones survived the terrible storms...I know how overwhelming starting over can be, only my storms were tornados, but with the help and love of family and good friends...it can be done
peace and love, Carole~
God bless you always for your fortitude and beliefs. You are very strong to walk in the blessed shoes of faith and endurance. Really happy you are well and continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.....
Be always safe,
Karen

Your words say it so well...there is little else to say. I think you have summed up my feelings perfectly. Home is more than a building to be ravished by desolation.
One can only imagine the devistation that can take place during those horrible seeasons...the good news is that you are alive and well to talk about it...and for that, good on you.
peace and love, Carole~
