A bit of free verse for you today.. and please know I am not complaining about weather here. We just have fun with it because we never know what the next day will bring...
Rules
The air is ripe with indecision,
Heavy southern winds blow, tired, impatient.
Scent of clover adds to confusion
And birds warble in uncertain song.
This is winter along the bayous,
Playing its game of 'make up my mind'
And we wonder if it ever will.
But...
We play along, keeping closets stuffed,
In deference to a fickle season.
Shorts and sweatshirts hang out side by side
Like dead grass and clover...
Because, like us, they understand the rules
Of the game... and it plays on and on.
Even when you don't like the rules, you have fun. I did, too, reading this weather report from the sweet and soft center of the South. This is lovely writing... as you do so effortlessly, it would seem. - Bill
Myrna, today it is cold but sunny on the North Oregon Coast, but yesterday we had an 1 1/4" of rain. More rain tonight. But cheer up, the WWE is on tonight if you want a laugh or two, or three, or four, or more.
Cheers SPP,
Dan
California has become much the same Myrna. One day the sun is shining and everyone is wearing T-shirts and the next day it's snowing and everyone is bundled up. Even the flora and fauna are confused. I enjoyed your Bayou poem very much.

Marcia

A people’s heart can be found in their poetic words. In history men and women have stood firmly upon their soapboxes and street corners, rallying the deepest beliefs of people to rise up and be heard. The poetrypages.com has offered that voice a new
