Someties a visit to an old membory brings you more than you expect...

Sonata

I hear the whisper
Of song in bayou wind
Its sweet sonata
Drifting gently, embracing
Memories, defining time

I close my eyes, feel rippled melodies wash over me... melodies of every sunrise and sunset, every sadness and joy, every season lived and dream I thought forgotten.  I hear life's concerto, promising tomorrows just as surely as it keeps my yesterdays. I long to sit and stay awhile, here where time stands still, to share those secrets held within my soul, to dance along memories' bank... and make music, my music... oh, how I long to stay!  But there is another whisper, another sonata heard beyond this bayou wind... and I must listen and follow... for time, it seems, is still not through defining me.

Myrna,
Thoughts recollected in tranquillity, and sensitively, meaningfully expressed in rich language.

SPP, superb! Finding the definition of 'who we are' can take a minute, hour, ... or a lifetime. You have described this quite nicely.

Cheers,
Dan

I hear you, O Bayou Girl, and there is no one who writes of it as well as do you! This one haunts - even after it is read. Enjoyed by reading it as your voice. - Bill

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!

Haiku of a Wayward Sailor” encompasses both haiku and poems. Many of the haiku are based on my experiences at sea.
