Another of this lovely form... This will be in the 'Sparrow' collection coming at the end of this year.
Journal
(Nocturne 1-4-3)
Breathing this morning in spring...
On a desk her pen lies, quietly capturing
Each moment, each whisper of word
And sigh of uncertain touch, drinking
Of every scent and taste, her every thought
And a journal opens as does the soul
Thirsting for identity, seeking truth within
An April promise bleeding destiny's ink
Myrna, again and again I say I admire your skill with this form.
I'd put it to music if I knew my notes. "Thirsting for identity" is the perfect definition of a journal. -gene.
I really liked this one Myrna, the image of the pen as a receptor of thoughts, dreams, and ideas sparks the imagination and it's clarity comes through so well in your write.
This poem shines, its quiet still thoughtful air is a lasting satisfaction.
