A tankabun inspired by a glimpse of dancing leaves... cast in shaddows.
Shadows
Summer shadows dance
Waltzing with clouds, changing moods
Romancing the sun
Disguising their innocence
With soft whispered promises
Such coquettes! Teasing ordinary into special... each chasing the other in sweet abandon. Casting playful blame on breeze and leaves. And we, mesmerized by their dappled laughter, slip easily into the moment of unbridled joy... sharing it in silent fascination.
Silly me. A google search for the definition of tankabun, so I could decipher Richard's work led me here. Pleased to meet you. We don't get too many summer shaddows here in SoCal. But the spring dance of the clouds does provide many opportunities. Patrick

What a wonderful poem of natures gift to us. I have spent many an hour in solitude on my back deck watching just such a dance and listening to the song the wind plays out with the birds doing back up vocals. This poem reminded me so much of that. Lovley indeed Myrna.
