I have been a bit absent of late.. life does get in the way at times, doesn't it? Here is a soliloquy (an EW Richardson form) and if anyone would like the particulars do let me know...
Splendor
I find them scattered, sweet words
Once held by sunset's whisper,
Thoughts hued in crimson splendor
Filling the skies with yesterday.
Gold and blue, teasing time,
Settle their brilliance beside me.
In comfortable silence I sit, gently
Gathering the words close and sigh...
Listening to a voice only I can hear,
Touched by breath of other days...
Leftover moments I thought to save
Within the warmth of treasured dreams.
And I let the words slip once more
Into that very dear and tender place...
Where sunsets bleed, scattering grace
Across the colors of fading twilight.
I cherish them, these precious words
Caught within my past, my yesterday,
Soothing me when passing time
Has shadowed every breath and sigh.
And it is that presence I feel and hear,
That love reminding me there are dreams
Still to dream, life to live, and so much more...
Waiting just beyond splendor of twilight.
Myrna,
Your sense of colour is always wonderful and especially so here; you understand richness and vibrancy and the entire poem has a warmth and mellowness that you impart uniquely.
