Sharing again one of my older pieces.. one which calls me to tweak from time to time.. still one of my own favorites... hope you enjoy!
I Have Found You
I searched for you in Milton's paradise,
Explored the electricity of Whitman,
And lost myself in the depths of Gibran.
Once I went out on a snowy evening with Frost
And I might have found you there,
Waiting on that untraveled road,
But I was too interested in the snow.
I have seen you painted in shades
Of Shakespeare's elegance and sonnet's hue,
And touched your spirit in the words of Browning,
Felt your soul in Byron and Keats,
And once I danced with Khayyam
Hoping you would come to entertain me.
Still you kept your quiet distance,
Unheard, your thoughts unseen,
Until I discovered your secret
Within the silence of breaths not taken
And the whisper between heartbeats.
You are within me, the pulse of my soul,
The poetry of my being...
You are my silence, my secret, my voice.
You weave your words like a fine tapestry, to be unfolded before our eyes. Your poetry is exquisitely planned out and executed, a treasure to behold. Very well done! You have a new fan.
