Reason For Being
 
I think of you when night lies still
And stars are breathless, when time
Has fallen into place, each second
 
Aware of its moment, its reason for
Being.  I think of you when sun is
Rising and when it loses itself behind
 
Twilight's horizon, when clouds chase
Each other in a never-ending race, or
When the sky is like blue glass, clear,
 
Unblemished.  I think of you when
Colors fade into the silence of a rainbow,
When the taste of rain is fresh and new
 
And I think of you when I least expect
It, when your memory nudges me to
Simply be, to live and to love, to remember
 
That every breath I take is no more or less
Important than the last or the next, each
Has its moment, its reason for being.

And it is here where I find myself again.
Here... where time has fallen into place.
