Some recent musing brought this piece to life...hope you enjoy!

Amen!

the master artist has allowed
me use of his brilliant palette,
challenging me, it seems, to

paint of life as I see it... so I
begin, hesitation guiding my
brush as much as timidity

stills my hand... but with His
patience and belief of accomplishment
I dip my brush into color of sky,

stroking blue upon a canvas bare,
then find the colors of trees and leaves,
and my breath almost stills before

I sigh as truth overwhelms me....
He guides me, providing me with
His vision and perceptions of

a world unseen, or seen in colors
mismatched and certainly unclear...
I then find the color of sun, fading

into a changing horizon, slipping
through the layers of daylight's hues,
and I am content... He begs me

chose my own colors for the beauty
that decorates the earth, the flora
and faunae that leave their imprint

on memories, the thoughts that
drift amid the clouds, and the words
unheard that sing from every

canvas he paints.... I lay the brush
upon my heart and whisper to Him
that I hope I have done His portrait

justice. I hear His whisper within
my soul... 'my child, this is your portrait
and, yes, you have done yourself justice...

you have painted in your colors, those you
see and hear, textures you feel... and shades
you taste and smell... no one could ever

paint this but you.... so never doubt
yourself, my child... painting is not
really about colors... it is about heart.

Amen, Sir!.. Amen!

"I dip my brush into color of sky,..."
and your heart, as well, Myrna, but most of all
your soul which shines through these fine words.
Amen, again!

John
