Because I write mostly from the perspective of the blind, sometimes my 'interpretations' of the visual world may be a bit askew from acutality.. which is fine. My analogies may not be the norm and metaphors will be a bit different and also my picture will be painted in odd colors which is also fine. I wrote this piece after I was questioned about it...no malice intended, no lecture being given... but rather with the honesty of what I had to come to realize within myself.. I do hope you enjoy my 'interpretations'...

Interpretations

I color my world with whispers of spring,
scent of summer, taste of September rain,
and chill touching skin while in

winter's keeping... I shade it in hues
of comfortable silence and warbling song,
splashing sips of watercolor gladness

across its aging canvas before dipping
brush into fragrance of contentment, allowing
it to drip onto imagination's palette... but I

wonder sometimes if strokes in richer
values of unseen sky and of earth bleeding
into twilight would be a more vivid interpretation

of wind and trees, sun and moon, clouds
and stars...  perhaps it would be all this,
more beautiful, more interesting and colorful...

but what it would not be is my truth, my
vision, or an honesty of the world as I see it
...even if I could paint it differently

You write with a keen sense from your heart and there is no better way but to be true to yourself, beautiful as always...

You paint what you know and feel
and not what you think others might like
or be impressed by and that is you, Myrna,
the essential you.

I love your attitude and the message that you share with us. Yes, interpretations can be assumed by anyone but only the writer can say if they are right or wrong.

Interpretation, however you would like to write and voice your words... Thanks for sharing...

As poets we all write based on our own perceptions and 'interpretations' if we did not do that we would not be poets. I am glad that is what you do. Maintain your vividly colorful personality.

Cheers,
Dan
