If I could paint autumn's skies
I would use the colors of 'you'...
Your warmth of spirit, the sunset,
Your laughter, splashes of indigo,
Your smile, stars lighting the night,
Your voice, whispers of drifting clouds,
Your strength, sun rising at break of day,
Your gentleness, softly falling rain,
Your honesty, the tranquility of moon...
And your love, the promise of other seasons.
Myrna, this poem stands alone as beautiful writing, with each line a treasure of imagery. I don't see the word rice--was it rise? I think it must have been.
I love the poem, though. Brava!
I don't like challenges like that. Forces my brain to be structured and it doesn't like it. I'm not saying that I couldn't do well, it's just that I don't like to do mental gymnastics with poetry.
You however, seem to be the master of meeting the challenge with a beautiful poem that perfectly fits.
