A letter to my late husband... I hope it brings a smile..)
Christmas Thoughts
My dearest John,
Another Christmas is upon us
and I still miss you so.
Years have passed and more
memories have been made
but I cling to those
we made together, you and I.
I hear you in the voices
of our children
and see you in the smiles
of our grandchildren.
Your scent lingers on the jacket
I could never part with.
I feel you in every raindrop
that falls and upon every breeze
that brings your wind chimes to life.
I imagine the taste of your
coffee-laced morning kiss in every dream,
every thought, every moment I am awake,
and every time I see your favorite mug.
I could never part with that either.
Merry Christmas, Sweetheart!
You are loved and very missed...
but I do have some favors to ask.
Could you lay off the eggnog?
That jacket is beginning to
smell like bourbon...
and could you tell Mom to stop
messing with the Christmas lights?
No more twinkling please?
I will not ask that we spend
the holiday together...
We always do.
With all my love,
Myrna

Such a heart-provoking conversation with your dearest John. It was whimsical and lovely and romantic and . . . written with so much love it overflowed the lines. This is precious . . .
