I had not written a sonnet in a while but here is a fresh-of-the-keyboard French sonnet...
Sweet Heaven
I sit beneath your weeping sky
Wishing that I could dry your tears,
And ask that you not weep for me
For I have faced my every fear.
I sit beneath your cloak of clouds
Searching my heart, searching my soul,
Searching to find your reasoning
For the sorrow I feel unfold.
Sweet Heaven, let me touch your face
From where I am... and grant you grace
To carry on as I have done,
And color yourself in brilliant blue.
I'll gather tears you've left behind
'Til I can give them back to you.
Absolutely divine in its concept and indepth in the way you have used the words to their best advantage. I love sonnets, but haven't written one in a while. This masterpiece might just joggle some words loose enough to fit the concrete measure of a sonnet, be it French, or . . .
