Seems the sonnet bug isn't done with me...hope you enjoy this simple French sonnet
Now and Then
Miles I've traveled, and tolls I've paid
Thoughts scribbled across yellowed page
Sorrows I've known and joy expressed
Rest gently there with time and age
Paths journeyed with scattered debris
Remnants of love, tatters of living
Measured not by years or by choice
Nor by taking or by giving
I will not retrace footsteps made
Nor disturb with life's sacred spade
I treasure each day, each tear I've spent
Each path taken, each place I've been
Embracing words I have written
Between the breaths of now and then
there is a glow in your heart, Myrna,
as you write this and certainly a glow
in mine as i read uplifting words,
words of love, belief and passion..
going on, going on is all
Ah, dear Myrna, I have a great tendency to retrace my footsteps, but in my case I firmly believe it helped me put them to rest. Even now I go back -- as in the poem I posted today -- it is another mechanism to keep me grounded (as old as I am) and deliriously happy I have been the odds and survived.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
Beautif
as you write this and certainly a glow
in mine as i read uplifting words,
words of love, belief and passion..
going on, going on is all
be well and the very best to you in 2013
