A bit of free vrse...
All Things To define innocence, I will not try For it is truly undefinable, Just as are beauty and friendship. Each are born within the heart and soul And unique to us, to our values and beliefs. All things that portray innocence Perhaps are not born in that innocence. All things that are perceived as beauty May not be seen as beauty to another. And friendship? What truly defines it? All things we believe create friendship Could easily be tarnished when truth And trust are thrust into shadows. So we define these things within our Own perceptions, our own justifications, And our own gauge of acceptance. Some would say that innocence Is simply a state of mind... Perhaps... they are right. But that is for each of us to decide, Without judgment, Without unvoiced accolades, Without comparisons... But always ... with simple honesty.

At some point, innocence becomes ignorance if one does not grow and learn. A poem with a strong thrust to it.

Ah . . . Simple honesty is another thing which is difficult to find, Myrna. Sorry, but I'm having either flu or cold symptoms, wish I knew which one. After all this time I still never know. Innocence. It is many things to many people. It is also a third cousin to naivety.
