Colored Cards, Collected Words

Here upon my wall of quotes
Are written words in another's voice
Each cherished, each my choice
To be read and read again

Names of fame and those unknown
Are featured throughout this array
Of colored cards on display
In printed ink of another time

Soon they will be transcribed
Rewritten in the language of Braille
So that I can later avail
Myself to the wisdom and truth collected

I will touch them and remember
What every word meant to me
And always, always, I will see
The significance of each within my soul

I treasure these gathered quotes
And I would collect them all again
To share thoughts of those unknown
From another place and time
Whether in print or now transcribed
Each quote that I have collected
Will let me feel and remember
Why the words so touched my soul
