Broken and Scattered Beneath You...

PORTRAYAL 25. Take heart my love. “The violets in the mountains have broken the rocks.” If we let it, these trials will make us stronger. Image: dog-toothed mountain violets. For Michele.

Poem Artwork
Let us both consider how
the gloaming draws its shade,
and how cooling air wraps around us.
Stoking the fire (in a lingering
atmosphere) we will sit
and watch the flames
quietly together and
make a friend of it…
Around us
we see
violets
growing low,
faces downward,
hiding in their own leaves,
a blending of colors breathing out
shades of purple amaranth, lazuline,
burly-wood, and forest-green…
.
I am so thankful
my love that you thrive,
as do these mountain jewels,
flourishing
on the high trails
and summits less traveled,
your sky-reflecting soul of beauty
(its love, modesty, instinct and hope)
persisting through heartache and
the trials that test us,
where the hardest of rocks,
that once yielded to your roots,
now lie broken and scattered beneath you.

THE PORTRAYAL SERIES: Poetry about people. Poetiprose insights (good and bad) concerning my family and old friends (alive or dead). This series will also address certain of the actors, artists, musicians, and writers I worked with in college, or professionally, that were influential (in one way or another) in shaping the man I am today.

Yes, much can be said about the oneness of Nature and its ever-evolving transitioning through the seasons of weather as well as the seasons of character growth. Like the scree of today will always reflect the origin of its existence, for those of us in the right state of mind, the particles of our experiences will become memory's erosion that truly knows little of total disappearance. Totally enjoyed this telescopic exploration.

Absolutely gorgeous and such a heartfelt write to such an extraordinary love of yours and deeply precious to say the least!!!. Yes I know the current painful challenging pruning of the spirit's leaf's on our tree of life Richard and they are so ocean filled at times but it is my opinion the single greatest glorious beautiful time to be a vessel for such love. I walked today and pondered how much trials everyone in my inner circle is going through and brother it is so devastating tough to sometimes put that smile on when just a cyclone is all around but because He lives I can endure.... It is trials and testing that through elevation comes new births in deeper wine and yet it is so pull out of the rug bareness in massive challenges. But maybe in this curtain before the world it validates in the heart of the matter that we are spiritual beings and this is not our final home....And His Word is such a lamp unto my feet...As my inner circle gets smaller I am comforted by His massive love and protection knowing I'm some how where my feet need to be. I enjoyed this glorious and stunning tribute to such a beautiful woman. May you two have so many more years and forever's together in His precious agape ~ D
