Okay, I guess I was just killing time. I wrote this because we live in a period where minutes, seconds and hours are extremely important to us all. Maybe that is because in this day and age there is so much to do we put a premium on time. Unfortunately, we let time run us instead savoring each minute that is given to us. Also, I believe this to be an amusing look at us.

Tick tock, tick tock. Oh if I could only stop that clock.
My body grows old and my mind does stray.
I forget what I am doing from day to day.

Tick tock, tick tock, I believe I will blame it on that old clock.
If only the darn thing would wind down and stop.
If only the hands would simply stay at the top
And rotate no more, not adding more seconds, minutes and hours.
If it would stop my wish would come true . Eternal youth would surely be ours.

What am I saying? What is it I wish for?
That would mean I would see spring no more.
That would mean no more flowers would bloom and grow.
It would mean I would never feel the summer breezes that blow.

Stop the Clock? Stop the time? What am I thinking with such a hope?
I would have wished for something better if I were not such a dope.
I take back my wish to stop the clocks wondrous movement.
I listen to the ticks, savoring each moment because with time comes improvement.

Tick tock. Tick tock. I now listen quietly to the sound of the clocks wondrous sound.
I hear it chime every hour to herald the passing of time where beauty can be found.

Tick tock. Tick tock. Life is a wonderful collection of hours.
Within it can be found a joy that can truly be ours.
