A man challenged me to make a poem using a platitude. I'll do better. Here are some of my favorites.

*Platitudes* *Words of wisdom have been passed down through time.* *They may be often simply simple clichés and sometimes they rhyme.* *One that comes to mind is one my mother would recite.* *“An idle mind is the devils playground,” she would say and she was right.* *Another one I remember is one that is tried and true .* *It is one that can be a real challenge for me and for you.* *“If you can’t say something nice say nothing at all.”* *One thing I can say for my brother-in-law is, well, he’s tall.* *Another truism which we all found to be a hard one to have learned,* *“A penny saved is a penny earned.* *A favorite of mine is, “a wise man knows how little he knows.”* *Or, “we grow too soon old and too late smart.” That’s life I suppose.*

Love this I can relate to each and everyone of the platitudes...I heard them time and time again while growing up and now often use them myself...words of wisdom. Enjoyed!

What a perfect arrangement of platitudes and yes they ryhme. I'm a sucker for well considered, tempo'd rhymes. Nicely done. Patrick
