muse (sometimes lowercase) the goddess or the power regarded as inspiring a poet, artist, thinker, or the like. As a child unable to escape abuse, i had reoccurring dreams of pegasus coming to me at night and flying us toward Heaven-As an adult, perhaps he is my muse

Pegasus, son of Poseidon

Sprang forth in a high birth

From Medusa’s severed head

Caught and tamed by Athena

Equus who flies

Carried thunderbolts to Zeus

In  thunderstorms his footfalls are heard

As he gallops across the sky

He brought in the dawn

Of each new day with Eos

And made great conquering heroes

Of Perseus and Bellerophon

Pegasus, who with a single strike of his hoof

Created the fountain of Hippocrene

On the top of Mount Helicon

From which flows inspiration for poets

So, now transformed into a starry design

I thank you, Pegasus, my muse

I loved this write and thought the entry to it was sad in a way it also spoke of the power of the spirit or muse or God to send in relief when all seems hopeless. I enjoyed this immensely.

So very sorry to hear anyone talk about childhood abuse, but Pegasus sounds like a wonderful muse to have, Karen. But please don't tell my moose muse I said that!
