THE SINGERS

I have met a lot of singers in my time,
and I've learned a thing or two as they've passed by;
Though they have talents that can garner them acclaim,
The ones who thrill my heart are those who sing
in Jesus' Name.
 

A song without the Spirit is just words;
A tune without His melody, discord;
and all that I desire as I sing my song
is to glorify my Savior all day long!
 

There are those who stand and sing the world's songs,
and reach for stardom as they travel on;
But after tasting all that this old world has to pay,
they will never know contentment
'till they bow the knee and say:
 

A song without the Spirit is just words;
A tune wihout His melody, discord;
and all that I desire as I sing my song
is to glorify my Savior all day long!
 

Refiners' fire brings forth the purest gold,
and God tests every Christian in his soul;
God's melody is burned within the heart that's sorely tried,
and ever will he sing God's song which cannot be denied:

A song without the Spirit is just words;
