I do not like cold weather! However, I am open to discussion.

A “Little” Persuasion Warms My Heart

Some brave folks still venture forth
When the wind chill numbs your mind
And creeps up your sleeves, unwrapping its sheaves,
planting goose pimples behind.

Not I, though craving company,
And some cocoa from the store;
When winter swoops down with its frosted crown,
I shiver behind my door . . .

Till the telephone rings out
And a little voice entreats,
“Hey, Grammy, it's me! I'm calling to see
if you'll make a snowman with me!”

“Oh, no, it's not too cold, dear;
I'm glad you gave me a call!
We'll wear mittens and caps and our warmest wraps,
and we won't mind the cold at all.”

Valley of Beracah (Praising)

Precious poem. Love the concluding verse. Really, how would you say "No" to the grandkids? Not likely!

So sweet and full of caring. Youngsters are delighted with new snow and just have to get out in it. Their young bodies with surging blood flow from all those cookies and candy makes it easy for them to forget how cold it is, and with rosy cheeks play all day out there in the cold without even noticing it. You are very brave to face your fear, brace yourself, and join in the fun.

I find this thoroughly delightful, Connie. I am not a grandparent yet... ...but I've heard that soon... Thank you for sharing this gem. Love and best wishes to you,
