...Turkey Gobbler’s
sing the doodle-doodle-do’s
While your babies babble
to your coochie- coochie coos!
Take it from the top...
I’m not really a hen! Just a fat old turkey is me But I live in this house with the hens all around me!
Generations of poultry from young to old They scratched and pecked and watched me grow! With the finest of feathers, through all kinds of weather and then...
Just only yesterday I got the bad news! And, all I can say is... I better start singing...
“The Hen House Blues"
”Turkey Gobbler’s sing their doodle-doodle-do’s While your babies babble to your coochie- coochie coos! Your butchers are out with their little axey-poos! And I’m just a turkey singing... the hen house blues!
In the corral they do the Horse-Tail Swoosh! Better than being stuffed with all that mush! And, then they penned the grunts, but if you must, just flick at their tails until they go OINK! Couldn’t Thanksgiving get by with some pork?
Turkey Gobbler’s sing their doodle-doodle-do’s While your babies babble to your coochie- coochie coos! Your butchers are out with their little axey-poos! And I’m just a turkey singing the hen house blues!
Your Grannies ramble in their Turkey talk While I’m pacing outside with my eyes half gawked! It’s just an ole’ turkey....whippy do! Who said that? How would you like it if they killed you?
Turkey Gobbler’s sing their doodle-doodle-do’s While your babies babble to your coochie- coochie coos! Your butchers are out with their little axey-poos! And I’m just a turkey singing the hen house blues!

This is so cute! I can just picture that old tom turkey ducking here and there trying to hide behind the chickens. His best bet would be to stay out of that hen house, where he sticks out like a sore thunb, and go live with his own kind where he has a better chance of being passed over.
We've had up to 15 turkeys at a time to raise. Home-fed birds sure taste good----so, sorry, Tom, no sympathy here!
A good, fun piece, Kimmy!

Christmas - only days away; plastic snowmen and glowing reindeer adorn the lawns of neighborhoods all across America. All is calm, all is bright, and yet there is something tragically wrong about this Christmas night.
