Sounds like a wonderful daddy indeed, I didn't get to experience this part of life, as my mom and dad divorced when I was but a year old. However, I never thought and still do not today think of myself as missing out...for my mom made up the difference and my Papaw was the father figure to me, and you've penned his description through the description of your daddy. He too was gentle but also delivered spankings, I miss him terribly...
