Divination

God has never spoke to me
In words I could physically hear
But He’s sent me messages in abundance
More than I could count in a single year

There are the insights that grab my mind
The little nudges that steer me to my goal
The powerful cognition of knowing what is right
The extraordinary miracle of watching it unfold.

No, God never spoke to me not even once
In actual words with voice, you see
But he is a constant prodder through telepathy
Instructing me in all I yearn to be.

He walks peacefully with me in green pastures
He sits quietly and guards my domain door
He feeds and sates me when I am hungry
And sees my God-given life is never poor.

He pours my hungry head with wisdom
His divination provides a mental screen
His augury renders a prophecy
Of  hopes and dreams physically unseen.

He guides me in my daily tasks
Lifts my burdens too heavy to bear
He gives me strength when I am weak
And takes away all my unsettling fear.

So even if I do not hear the words of God
Through listening with my worldly ears
If I listen to the intrinsic core of me
I’ll feel God’s message when he is near.
