This poem reminds me so much of a scene from "Little Women" - the part when they bring their Christmas dinner to the sick their mother is tending. You have captured the true meaning of Thanksgiving in your actions and your words!

Around this time of the year, we are all faced with many thoughts and feelings, but I especially like this time of the year because I'm like a kid. Whether I will receive presents or not it doesn't matter, but I love to give to make others happy. That is my Christmas!

Joyce, this is a wonderful tradition. Think I'll check out my neighborhood and see what I can share. Our local grocery store has such a program, already gave them my turkey, but now am inspired to take it one step further.
After my Dad died, our church brought us a Christmas basket of food, but included a lipstick for my Mom. She still remembers this token [the lipstick] of love.
