Green Side Up

Don't you enjoy
the top of the ground?
Where it is green
and the air is found.

Where skies are blue
and clouds puffy white.
Full moon's glow
and sun shines bright.

If I wasn't there
I would fearfully dread
I'd be brown side down
and probably dead.

The green side has cars
fire engines and trains.
The brown side has worms
that eat at your brains.

The green side has Christmas
birthdays and Easter.
The brown side has caskets
where you lay on your keister.

The green side has parents
that spoil me.
The brown side has snakes
that wiggle on me.

The green side has pie
and candied iced creams.
The brown side has devils
and nightmarish dreams.

The green side has has games
picnics and toys.
The brown side has nothing
no sound, no noise.

Where do you want to be
on the up or down?
Green side up
or brown side down?

Truly a gifted write, Rusty-friend. One of your best for children in my opinion, one to make them think, yet entertains as well -- what more could a poet ask for?

This one is cute, sweet, and fun to read
Hell, man, I'm green.... one of the origianals.
Like a lot of green things... smooth greens,
turnip greens, green veggies, green soap,
greenbacks, Greenie treats, the Green Card,
but mostly I like green ice cream,.. Pastaccio!

I would like to see the children racking their minds for a vote on this. Victor
