Ask that ye may have wisdom, and guidance to understand those things which are for a discerning heart and it shall be given, for no one knows the time or place.

The Broken Tree Branch

I was driving down a country road, a city street

And noticed a broken tree branch

This branch had fallen upon a man with no last name

The weight of another crippled by confusion

Had cause this branch to fall it dangles from centuries of misunderstanding in a storm of un-forgiveness

Making us all victims

His job was taken away by technology, ideology

Overseas ventures and nobody noticed merging storms or broken limbs unconnected to source as they were consumed

By demons which stole there daily thought and child-like

hearts

Snipers and huge buildings fell to fear

With affirmative action and nobody notice

The broken tree branch or the twisted bodies

In teary-eyed pools, that lay in its’ path

As we slowly droned in delusion

Consumed by an American idiot

And who wants to be a millionaire

Still we marched to soldier’s heartbeat

As we retreat to the comfort zone of self righteousness

Who shall walk in the parade of decay

Blind to neon blue purpose in ghetto streets

Walking spiritless, and heartless crying

In the drunkenness of understanding 2000

Shall 2012 tell, this is you me, I and he

Beneath the broken tree

Thought provoking write Stan~ I too wonder what sense is made out of the confusion we built, and continue to build upon...
Living in the woods just north of you, in St. Augustine I see many broken tree branches, but never once did it stir my imagination as such...I'm intrigued!
By the way, you mentioned in your blog that a few poets are needed in Palm Coast...I'm open for the venue! Let me know what its all about!
Love and Peace~
