Lucky Duckies

I saw some geese head south today,
And thought "Oh you lucky birds"
If I could spread my winds and fly away,
I'd migrate whenever I felt the urge,

I'm stuck in this office watching you up there,
And couldn't begin to pay the almighty airfare,
But if I ever see a wage-rise,
I'll join you lucky duckies under Caribbean skies.

I watched a gaggle of geese merrily winging southward yesterday, as I shoveled 12 inches of newly fallen snow. They were lucky duckies (er, geese) indeed!
