Poem Artwork

A dance of beauty enacted in form
a mirage that comes upon a storm
a purple fusion ribbon wrapped
around a cloud  cosmically trapped
the neon light of tempestuous torrents
creating havoc over many continents
secretions of nuclear clouds that reign
covering fools that follow the insane
leaders who bequeath danse macabre
rejoice over pas de deux of murder
vultures  compete in the masquarade
flouting dance an emigration escapade
voracious winds inventing their own dance
joining in the flow ventillating violence
now appears the devilish dance of diversion
coersion catapulting a cataclysmic conversion

One of the most awe-inspiring of the Earth's meterological phenomena is the vortex, a tight, rotating funnel cloud of water or wind. In Greek myth, this is represented by the female monster Charybdis, the offspring of Gaia and the sea God Poseidon. An encyclopedia definition of Danse Macabre, Eileen!

Eileen,

Good gracious, what an ugly sky. But your words bring beauty to the storm--powerfully written and presented, this is excellent!

I agree with Karen: I see a sky like that in real life, I'm gone, baby, GONE. LOL

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Daddy update: doing a bit better, maybe this weekend or Monday he'll have the surgery. Will keep you posted, and thanks for the prayers.

If I EVER see a cloud like that, I am OUTTA here! YIKES!! Living in Tornado Alley, I have seen some funky-ass clouds! LOL Excellent poem that is charged with power; brava!

a poem that packs some power, even the short and punchy form adds to the power.

Wham, bam thank you, Katrina... or not, as the case may be. But, my, that photo is both eery and captivating... like something out of a Spielberg movie. We never cease to be enthralled by the sense of the macabre, perhaps... just at a safe distance, for most of us! Strange how the most devastating things can have an awesome sense of artistic or intrinsic beauty about them... you have captured this well, Eileen, thank you. Kate xx

Dottoes Carmen, with this caveat. You, in this short but intense piece of poetry have explained everything any sane person needs to realize that there is a great possibility that this is the fire and brimestone foredoomed for this planet's future. Damn! When you hit on something, you are awesome (hate that word, but it fits).

Eileen, this is one of the most powerful pieces I've read in some time. Indeed something to make one think and fear the future, lest we change something.

Has powerful shades of Dante's Inferno, as this world hurtles towards self destruction, mankind seems hell bent on wiping itself off the face of the planet !
This is a wake up call to the decent remnants of society, who are still resolute, and willing to stand up and fight their corner, for what they hold dear and cherish in their lives.
This is a terrific beginning to my evening reviews !
And what a spectacular and eye catching photo !
