they lay upon the fertile ground
staring up at moon and stars
his hands caressing breasts unbound
while she speaks about mars
his passions were beginning to soar
while hers were still just warm
his other hand  was making a tour
of places he hoped to charm
she was still talking of earth day
comparing it to mars with no soil
he was intent on having his way
she knew he was ready to boil
she would surprise him with a kiss
knowing soon after they'd be mating
a sudden shower spoiled their bliss
they ran to the car to finish  sating
afterwards he teased about earth day
laughing at the scowl on her face
with the last word  she was happy to say
" no matter what earth's still the best place!"
