It Was Just, My Imagination

Sometimes we invision what it would be like to be with someone else, not all of us would admit, but I know my husband has looked at other women and I have noticed other men. Now we both know we would never fool around on the other, but through the years it sure keeps you on your toes to even think for a moment that there could be someone else. I'm just happy to know my man is not just human but very much alive along with myself. Thats what keeps our relationship strong.

It Was Just, My Imagination

I watced him as he slowly followed me,
And I noticed when he thought I didn't see,
But the colour of our cheeks as we met,
Told me there's a thought we may regret,
But it was
 just, my imagination.

I could feel his arms tightly around my waist,
I could tell you, how his kisses taste,
I could feel my heart beat and the heat rise,
A thought that we may regret in our eyes,
But it was just, my imagination.

Another sip of wine, to help me calm,
Another slow dance with all his charm,
But then my mind would turn back and he'd be gone,
Then I'd realize, in my mind, this is wrong,
But it was just, my imagination.

I'm in this little world of fantasy,
All by myself and the things I see,
I'd never mess around, but only in my mind,
I  do it innocently, any old time,
Cause I know, it was just, my imagination.

I come back to join reality,
Knowing in my heart this would never be,
But it's nice to know, we are still alert,
Making eye contact at  another, doesn't hurt,
Then I realize, it was just my imagination.

We are all human and fantasy and imagination are what keep us even-keeled through life, relationships and marriage. We know deep inside that the grass is never greener on the other side of the fence, yet our dreams take us on short, healthy jaunts that invigorate our souls and reawaken our sensual side. Love this romantic and passionate write, Rose.

You are certainly improving with age, if that is a possibility. Beautifully written. Love & hugs. And by the way, THIS IS NOT MY IMAGINATION. Chuckle, chuckle.

The ability to differentiate between fantasy and reality is a valuable trait to have anytime but most important when you are in long term relationships of love. We all need to be desired and we all are attracted from time to time, by reason of our chemical make up, to others of the opposite sex. The fantasy is often as pleasing as the reality. You captured so much in this one cuz and the romantic in you flows not only through your heart but through your mind.
Candle light and roses, music and wine, sweet music on a summer night...
