I suppose we start with lipstick
Red Cherrie spread on nice and thick
Then a hair piece or a wig
The best that they can rig
Now we come to lots of jewelry
Fake diamonds rubies and tom-foolery
Or things hanging from there ears
That look like chandeliers
Also nail polish perfume fancy Soap
With all this stuff I don't know how they cope
Dresses hats shoes and more clothes
Were they get the money nobody knows
I really know that all women are beautiful on any given day
I believe no make-up no fake-up would be a much better way
I agree but in todays society the nedia exploits women. I'm lucky I guess my Mom gave me porcelain complection. Only problem is the sun. The women who give in to vanity sure make others a lot of $$$$$.

I appreciate what you've penned her and with what CJ says below, less is better...subtle hints of makeup and jewlery is nice, too much is just, well too much! I recall when I got married it was the year 1979 and makeup was still a big part of my young life, I loved the eyeliner and shadow and the entire nine yards...I recall I wondered what my husband would think as he had never saw me before without my "face" it was a scary thing to think about, then I just did it...my husband never said anything other than...my you look wonderful this morning! Great write brought back a few memories for me!

Less is definitely more, and there's a real craft in taking extra care putting on makeup so you don't 'look' made up. The look is what men would call 'natural', but we ladies know better (wink) ...

I agree,they don't have to go overboard for some men,but if it makes them feel better about themselves,so be it.I liked it when my love woke up and dressed casual(Sweats and tennis shoes).Not all that make up and jewelry.Natural look!!Excellent write,
