We are all butterflies,
The speaker told us,
But at what stage of growth
Do we find ourselves?
Are we still an egg,
Pregnant with promise,
Or have we completed
Our tranformation
Into living jewels,
Beacons of beauty
Who illuminate the world
With their grace and wisdom?
I believe
That I am still a caterpillar,
Eating her way through life,
Not yet ready for the chrysalis,
But growing weary of the state
That I've long outgrown.
Soon I will have little choice
But to morph
Or to die,
For caterpillars cannot endure
Forever.
Which will I choose?
No doubt I will choose life,
But, O!
The faith it will require
To wrap myself
In my cocoon
And trust magnificent wings will form
Where once there were none.

This one grabs the heart and won't let go - you are a beautiful butterfly, Rebecca, I see you for the friend, poet and person you are within. Don't let anyone tell you differently. You have a lovely soul and heart, full of love and compassion. :(
Yes we cannot wish our way to heaven, we have to fulfill the growth stage and live what we believe in by example and practice in prayer always acknowledging in humility our loving Savior.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
