I'm stepping on a limb
It's a chance that I must take
I know the branch may bend a bit
But I hope it doesn't break
So many things have happened
So many daggers thrown
If only you could know the man
I'm grateful to have known
Opinionated....to the hilt
But, on the other side
I've seen the gentler man he is
The one, you think he hides
We each, have come together
To share, to learn, to grow
And I've grown to love each one of you
That I've been blessed to know
But now, I'm in the middle
Of those, I care the most
This battle, heated arguement
That you've become engrossed
I know we've come to write here
So, NOW, I'll have my say
Each of you are guilty
Of insighting each, each day
He makes a comment, you don't like
You fury on in pen
You rate the person, not the form
And fuels the fire again
And now the lines are being drawn
On who's side will you stand
Well, here's my proposition
A third choice in the sand
Tom, will never change his style
He's steadfast in his ways
And though you don't agree with him
There's much to what he says
Granted, all the bickering
Has gotten out of hand
But listen friends, it's got to stop
So I propose a plan
Write your heart, that's why were here
No need to leave or fuss
This site is truly big enough
To handle all of us
And if you come across a write
That riles you..let it be
There are no winners in a war
Only butchery
My love for you is genuine
And hurts me to the core
We each have our opinions
And truths, on every score
But bottom line, and true r yet
No change, will this afford
There's more to gain in kindness
Than wounding with a sword
No secret, my persuasion
I'm anti feminist
But have respect, to each his own
Nor wonder, what I've missed
Yet, circumstance has given me
An independent strength
Equality is admirable
But extremists go at length
It's like some sort of religion
Catholic, Mormon, Jew
You have to find the moderate
That only works for you
So Tom, my dearest, Thomas
Write your hearts desire
And each of you who disagrees
Let not, the first shot fire
And if you choose to slay me
With your pen, then that's okay
For I'll hold my tongue no longer
I'm a lass who'll have her say!
*it's so difficut when it's people you care about. but, i've decalred my heart, and now i feel i have to defend it. we can each agree....to disagree. ......with love...k

one last note, because i've had a few moments to stew and now i am ROYALLY PISSED!
Never...and let me repeat that..NEVER..presume nor assume to tell me whom to love, whom to care, what to say, write, BE! the audacity to do so, not only serves to try to limit me, but inturn will eventually stifle others. that is the one reason i left the other site. because it began to limit expression.
let me tell you a little something about this man you call a monster.
he has gone through hell in his life. and survived. still maitains a modicum of self respect. i have an enormous amout of respect for him, because, regardless of his own abuses, he speaks his mind, says what he feels, stands by his convictions and doesn't run from a fight. i may not always agree with him..nor anyone for that matter...but i do repect his strength. one thing he has taught me, that regardless of how others view me...to myself be true. good lesson.
there are those in this world..in MY world that love me regardless. i have lived most of my life, cow towing to those to make them happy..most of the time, being miserable myself. I WILL NOT be that way again. I WILL say what i choose....LOVE WHOM I CHOOSE..FEEL HOW I CHOOSE..and i am willing to die for that right. i hope that is clear enough for you.
IF you choose to create a battle with me...let me advise one thing.....think long and hard....and DO NOT FUCK WITH ME!
k
jennifer,
i have had a very difficult time with this arguement. i have always spoken my mind as honestly and as painlessly as i can. i know your mother is a wonderful woman, and i have tried to stay neutral..because i care. yes..tom is a friend as well...he has always been good to me, i have no reason to think otherwise..the battle has been between others..i've seen both sides. no i don't agree on the way things have been handled...but i, unfortunately, have no nails in my palms and feet...so i am not anywhere near perfect enough to make the calls. the poem of which you speak, i remember. i didn't have an opportunity to rate or comment on this site...i did, however rate it and comment on your poetry.com it was a great message for woman who have/had been abused. i understood it, because i've been there...5 times broken nose, punctured ear drum, fractured collarbone AND rape! so please don't tell me that i have no understanding...nor compassion where this subject lies. i have been thru hell and back and i still maintain a modicum of my feminity. if you read this piece...then you would have seen and understood, that i love both these people...i am horribly torn, by the constant harangue that goes on. but i will not choose sides because of threats, or berating attitudes. i stand where i stand. if you, your mom, or tom..(or anyone else for that matter)..have a problem with my views..i'm sorry...because i have tried to respect everyone elses. your mom will do what she will. she is a good and fair woman. and tom will continue to fight a battle he feels has been thrust upon him. i will agree or dis agree, where i will, and i believe that both tom and your mom, know me well enough that if i CHOOSE to speak my mind..i will have no problem doing so.
i respect your wish to protect your mother, and i understand the upset that all of this has caused. but i have never changed my stance...nor my feelings, because somebody said i should.
thank you

How sad that no one has noticed the truth here.My dear mother submitted a poem, one you praised her for on other sites, yet when she submitted it here she got shot down in a flood of arrows. The poem she wrote'Message
to women',was written to help women get out of domestic violent stuations. She wrote it many years ago and it is in several womens shelters 'to help women'.For her beautiful work, what did she get? Out of nowhere, a man ,your friend obviously, defamed her in the cruelest way.He has lied about my mother continually and she has not been able to do one thing about it.He continually accuses her publicly saying she has his comments removed from her work ,but ,NOT ONCE has she done this. His comments STILL stand on her work at your -poetry dot com.She has left them there as she believes in freedom of speech.....
You people here choose to believe the man who tore my mother apart here on this site with his cruel insults, you did nothing to help, you condone it.He has a problem because my mother is a feminist.Do any of you know the meaning of that word?Look it up...it means equality.that's all...not superiority...just to be treated equal.I thought you Americans believed in that.My mother has been slandered here on this site by the man you are defending...she did nothing wrong nor did she write anything wrong .She did not ever have any of your friends comments removed and if you were smart you would have checked that out .How can you stand by and let an innocent person be crucified by a bully.Would you like it if someone wrote publicly that you were 'deranged' because you wrote a poem to help abused women?Idoubt it.Would you like it if someone wrote that you were 'a man hater 'just because you wrote a poem telling women not to let anyone hurt them?I doubt it.Yet you encourage and praise and pander to a man who does it, and you ignore the truth . You have supported him in his insults, you have ignored all the cruel things he wrote to her here. She is a sensitive loving woman and loved by all her family and her boyfriend William ,we are trying to support her through this. She is no man hater as your friend always dipicts her to be.My mother has prayed for your son (as you know) and she has worried about him
being in the army at this time, she cared so much about you and she thought you were her friend, she was always going on about you being so great a poet and lovely person. She wrote you a couple of poems when you were sad to cheer you up ,how can you condone Thomas ughdair insulting her continually? .She dosent know I am doing this but I just had to as I know the whole story and I know she is undeserving of what has happened.I am trying to encourage my poor mother to take legal action against your friend.I use her computer and I have saved all his insults toward her.It is very easy to produce the truth,I have it on disk.Your friend he has defamed my mother and changed opinion of her' by his LIE'.He can be sued for this. This can be proved in a court of law.We have the proof. No one should be put through what my mother has endured at the hands of Thomas ughdair.I will do all in my power to see she take legal action against him ,it is up to her if she will or not.I hope you are satisfied at helping to break an innocent woman's heart.Congratulations.

Hi Krissy,
My humble view is that you are the epitome of
a desirable woman.
And have some how, managed,to retain,(in a difficult world)the very fine qualities, that make you a attractive person.
One of the finest of those qualities being a abundance of common sense.
If only more women would care to follow, your example.
But it is hopefully a free society we live in, with the exciting options of making our own mistakes.
Long may it continue.
This poem is what makes you special.

Kris.. I couldn't agree more...I just said similar on Toms post before seeing this. Hope this will end it for you in a peaceful way. Your declaration is superb!

I love the way you expressed yourself here. I especially like this: "There's more to gain in kindness/Than wounding with a sword." So true...
Suspenseful and close to home, Rain of Deception 2 will leave you in Tears. Much like Part 1, this will shocking sequel will keep you on the edge of your fingertips.
Rovella is a beautiful woman with a cold heart whom blames herself for an unfortunate old family secret that is literally ruining her life. This secret impedes a gorgeous woman from having happiness in her childhood, and throughout her life. Dark sec
