With every Christmas Season
We hear it more and more
Of those who’d like to change it
Eradicate what it’s for

 Ofcourse it is a holiday
And happy it should be
But here are a few of the reasons
That Christmas is special to me

 The Tree, with all of it’s symbols
Remains spotlight in our homes
The “tree of life” says St. Boniface
Referenced in Bible tomes

 The heavenly star or angel
Bringing us peace and joy
The heralds of the birth of Christ
Mary and Josephs boy

 With every light or candle
lluminates our way
Just like the star of David did
For the wisemen on that day

 The brightly wrapped and ribboned
Gifts beneath the tree
Stand for the gifts that were given to Him
And the Gift He gave you and me

 So how do we take Christ out of Christmas?
What meaning would all of this hold?
There are reasons for recalling this story
Being Christ-filled as that ONE day of old
